my good friend Olaf, whom I’ve known since we were teenagers, has started this crowdfunding project for me. He would like to collect the funds for a second wheelchair for me, which would make it possible for me to spontaneously leave the house again. He also would like to enable me to receive additional therapy, which would help me train my abilities and help with pain management.

Dear friends,
With my posts on Facebook and in my blog on my website (www.help4brit.de) I like to let you know what's going on in my life. I always try to focus on the positive things. That surely doesn't mean that my life is a piece of cake. But I'm convinced, that every one of us defines the quality of their live themselves. If for example we focus on pain, trouble and negativity, that's what will define our live. But if we focus on every possible little joy, they will add up to a joyous life. Surely lots of wise people have put that into better words, I still hope you can understand what I'm trying to express.

Monday morning I found myself in a situation that shocked me to the core and that I simply want to tell you about: As most of you know, I need assistance 24h a day. When I wake up in the morning, I call for my assistant, who then comes to the bedroom to take care of me. This morning I called ... but nobody came.

The night shift had left, the dayshift had called in sick at the office. The office had no one to sent as a replacement. The dayshifts for the coming days are not covered.

Why am I telling you about this? With all the problems life throws at each and every one of us, it can be extremely difficult to value what we have. In my eyes a self-determined life is one of the greatest privileges we possess. Our day starts with the decision to get up. This decision was denied me this morning and I noticed, that I had taken this privilege for much too granted.

From the bottom of my heart I wish for all of you to be able to focus on the joy in life! Sunny greetings from Waldenbuch!

Regi and Fabian sent me dear greetings from the SAC Kronenhütte at an altitude of 1903m a.s.l. (6243ft). I'm thrilled to be "on tour" with them!

Saturday I got to take part in the 7. MMD-DonateRun at the OaseWeil (www.oaseweil.de). Besides many dedicated runners there were also celebrities present. The soccer player Cacau was there with his family and also the comedian Christoph Sonntag. I was especially thrilled by meeting and talking to Samuel Koch (www.samuel-koch.com) and being permitted to take a picture with him. As you can see by Samuel's exhausted look and my red face, it was a long, hot day.

My physiotherapist and dear friend Carsten (www.physio-tuttas.de) and his lovely family made sure each and every one of my needs was taken care of, so that I could relax and enjoy the day. I thank you very much!
